Today, survival means a national body that negotiates and delivers national services and products with compliance. The Australian Newsagents' Federation (ANF) is working for all newsagents to achieve STRENGTH THROUGH UNITY. Only when there is ONE BODY representing a united newsagency industry will newsagents truly compete. Think about it – Coles, Woolworths, convenience and petrol outlets all have united, profitable corporations driving their growth. Only via a strong ANF will newsagents achieve results against these national competitors.

Representation Structure
The ANF provides you with representation on ALL LEVELS – nationally, through a member-elected board and a national head-office; at State level through board subcommittees and state branches; and at a local level through regional sub branches. Most importantly, the ANF is your association and you directly elect your representatives on the board.

Real Outcomes
After many years the ANF is taking action over the issues of oversupply, breach of contract and trade practices abuse with major suppliers. We are on the road to the launch of ANF Commercial - an entity owned by newsagents, FOR newsagents, with the IPO currently being prepared for offer to all newsagents.
We have formed a National Circulation Committee to strategically workshop with our industry partners the most equitable and strategic way forward. This group is based on best practice newsagents who are commercial, proactive, IT savvy and representative of our future, and the initiative has been welcomed by industry partners.

We will shortly be undertaking the first industry wide research of our channel from a newsagent, consumer and supplier perspective and we have established an Industry Advisory Group with our strategic partners who rely on our channel to ensure that our future strategy and planning is appropriate and provides our channel with a sustainable and successful future.

What does it cost?
Standard Membership starts at $300.00 (ex GST for delivery agents) and the maximum cost is $800.00 (ex GST). Even at the top level of membership ($800.00 ex GST), if your store happened to be open 8am – 5pm, 7 days per week, membership would only cost you $0.27 per hour – a small price for peace of mind. You can pay by the month and membership fees are tax deductible!
